Our Company
Southwest Electrical Contracting Services, Ltd. is a limited partnership that was established on April 20, 2004. Our dedication is to provide our clients in South Texas and the surrounding areas with high-quality electrical contracting services. Backed by a strong financial foundation and a network of established local connections, Southwest Electric has successfully completed over $400 million worth of electrical construction projects throughout its fourteen years of operation.
Beyond our extensive expertise in construction, Southwest Electric also operates a comprehensive Service, Controls, and Industrial Department that serves clients across the nation. We take pride in our large and capable workforce, consisting of over 450 field employees. Furthermore, our strong financial standing allows us to offer comprehensive bonding capabilities, with an overall bonding capacity of $50 million and the ability to handle individual projects up to $25 million in value.
We are actively involved in the industry through our memberships in reputable organizations such as the Independent Electrical Contractors Association, The Association of General Contractors, and The Association of Builders and Contractors. These affiliations allow us to stay at the forefront of industry best practices and standards while contributing to the collective growth and development of the electrical contracting field.
Southwest Electric is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of skilled electricians. We actively participate in the training and apprenticeship programs through our IEC affiliation and our support of the N.E.I.S.D. electrical program at MacArthur High School. Our partnerships with these educational institutions demonstrate our dedication to investing in the future of our workforce and ensuring the continuity of expertise in the electrical contracting industry.
As a closely held partnership, Southwest Electric has a proven track record of financial stability, evident through our strong relationships with trade partners, vendors, and general contractors.
Our Commitment to Safety
At Southwest Electric, safety is not merely a policy; it is an unwavering core value ingrained in every aspect of our operations. We understand that safety is not only a moral obligation but also a fundamental business imperative.
Recognizing that safety cannot be effectively implemented without accountability, Southwest Electric has established a comprehensive safety program that includes both rewards and consequences. Supervisors consistently enforce disciplinary measures for any safety violations, adhering to a clearly defined, stepwise program outlined in the employee handbook. These consequences are structured not as punitive actions but rather as a means to swiftly guide employees back into compliance with our stringent safety standards.
We are committed to providing our clients, including general contractors, facility managers, and building owners, with the confidence that their projects are in safe hands. To achieve this, Southwest Electric offers customizable safety plans tailored to the specific requirements and potential hazards of each individual project or situation. Moreover, we maintain comprehensive worker's compensation insurance through Texas Mutual, taking advantage of the discounts associated with our AGC membership.
We prioritize the safety of our employees and the surrounding community by keeping a complete set of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and all mandatory postings readily available at all job sites. The required OSHA 300 log, documenting any work-related injuries or illnesses, is meticulously maintained and prominently displayed at our main office. Our unwavering commitment is to work collaboratively with our partners to achieve a shared goal: zero accidents and zero injuries on every project.
