Our History

Shively Electric was founded in 1974 by Richard Shively, a dedicated individual with a vision of providing exceptional electrical services to the Franklin County community. Starting as a modest one-man operation with just a single truck, Shively Electric quickly gained recognition for its commitment to quality and reliability. As demand grew, so did the company. In 1977, Shively Electric officially incorporated, and by 1984, the team had expanded to seven employees. Today, nearly five decades later, Shively Electric stands as a testament to hard work and dedication, proudly serving the region as a locally owned and operated business with over 60 employees, a fleet of modern equipment, and offices strategically located in Rocky Mount, Roanoke, Martinsville, and soon to be Christiansburg, ensuring comprehensive coverage for its valued clients.
